Jo Siffert Tribute GT3 RS: Pure White Meets Viper Green

Porsche’s July 2024 Jo Siffert tribute put a racing story into the specification of a modern 911 GT3 RS. Its reference was the Porsche 917 that Siffert and Kurt Ahrens drove to victory at the Österreichring on August 10, 1969.

Two colors, one recognizable reference

Pure White forms the main body color, with Viper Green providing the contrasting sections. Porsche identifies both as Paint to Sample colors. The number 29 links the tribute directly to the historic race car.

Why the specification works

A green accent can look very different from an entirely green car. Here, the white areas give the livery room to breathe, while the placement of green carries the historical reference. For our archive, the arrangement matters as much as the paint names.

A useful distinction

This is a documented Sonderwunsch tribute, not evidence that any white-and-green GT3 RS has the same factory specification. When comparing another example, separate its base paint, contrasting finish and applied graphics.

Color and material names

Porsche’s German account calls Pure White Purweiß and Viper Green Vipergrün. These are paired language names for the finishes on this documented car. Compare Porsche’s German source.
