Celestial Jade: Two Chromaflair Paints on One Taycan

From the archive — Porsche source dated September 5, 2024. This retrospective covers the earlier report; the date above is our article’s publication date, not a new Porsche announcement.

Taycan Turbo S Celestial Jade, Sonderwunsch, 2024, Porsche AG

Celestial Jade is the name of a complete Sonderwunsch Taycan Turbo S project, presented in September 2024. Its finish combines two Chromaflair paints rather than a single ordinary green.

Meet the two finishes

Urban Bamboo brings green, yellow and gold tones. Shifting Carbon contributes dark gray, black and blue. Porsche combined them in a gradient and reported around a year of development, followed by roughly 80 hours of hand painting.

Why photographs vary

Porsche explains that the pigments use extremely thin layered flakes to change the perceived color with the viewing angle. A single image therefore records one appearance of the finish, not its entire range. The gradient adds another change across the surface of the car.

Name the project and the paints

For an accurate archive, keep “Celestial Jade” as the project name and list Urban Bamboo and Shifting Carbon as its constituent finishes. This prevents a memorable nickname from being mistaken for a straightforward one-color specification. Compare several official views before drawing conclusions about how the finish looks.

Color and material names

Porsche uses Urban Bamboo, Shifting Carbon and Celestial Jade in both its German and English accounts. The last is the project name, not an extra paint in the gradient. Compare Porsche’s German source.
