Provence on the Electric Macan: A Color With a Place Behind It

The electric Macan’s Provence color comes with a geographic reference. In June 2024, Porsche linked the shade’s inspiration to the French region while presenting the sixth installment of its Art of Dreams initiative.

The cultural setting

The project featured Dutch artist Thomas Trum and his Southern Spins works, shown in connection with the Design Parade Hyères festival. Porsche used the occasion to connect its car colors with a broader conversation about movement and visual art.

What belongs in a paint archive

The useful distinction here is between the car’s finish and the artwork presented alongside it. Provence is the Macan color being discussed; the art is context for the story, not a paint formula or a substitute color sample.
