Purple Sky Metallic: The Taycan Turbo GT’s Launch Color

Purple Sky Metallic appeared in Porsche’s March 2024 introduction of the Taycan Turbo GT. Together with Pale Blue Metallic, it was one of the new finishes highlighted for the electric performance model.

The original availability claim had a time limit

The launch announcement described the two new colors as exclusive to the Turbo GT for one year. That was a dated launch statement, not a permanent rule. It should not be repeated today as proof of current exclusivity.

Separate launch paint from PTS

Porsche discussed the new colors and the broader Paint to Sample program separately. A vivid purple body does not, on its own, make this a PTS car. The model, year and factory documentation belong alongside the color name.

What the photograph can tell you

The official image gives this color story a specific car and setting. It is useful for studying the finish on the Taycan’s body, but it should not be used as a digital paint chip. The changing brightness across the hood and fenders is part of the visual interest; a flat patch of purple would lose that relationship to the body shape.

Color and material names

Porsche’s German launch article writes purpleskymetallic and palebluemetallic as joined names. Its English article uses Purple Sky Metallic and Pale Blue Metallic. Compare Porsche’s German source.
