Riviera Blue makes the 993’s curved front fenders and large rear wing immediately legible. In this photograph, the silver wheels provide a quieter center to an otherwise vivid specification. The color is strong enough that the body shape does not need another graphic layer to stand out.

A documented 1990s color

Porsche’s July 2023 color history dates Riviera Blue’s development to 1994. The photograph here is identified by its creator as a 1995 993 Carrera RS in Riviera Blue. Porsche also described a Riviera Blue 993 RS in its August 25, 2016 report on classic-car tire testing, providing a separate factory reference for the color-and-model pairing. That test car is not claimed to be the car pictured here.

Follow the light, not just the hue

The forward-facing bumper looks darker than the upper shoulder. Reflections of trees break up the hood, while direct light produces a bright highlight above the rear wheel. All belong to the same photographed body. This is why a web image is better used to understand a color’s character than to select a precise paint match.

The side profile also shows how the wing changes the composition. Because it is blue, its upper plane remains connected to the body rather than reading as a separate black accessory. The silver wheel rims and dark tires offer contrast without pulling the eye away from the blue surfaces.

A color example, not a current listing

This is a historical color study using an openly licensed photograph. It does not establish that the pictured car is available for sale, that its equipment is entirely original, or that Riviera Blue can currently be ordered on every Porsche. The documented name and model are enough to make it a useful reference in the archive.
