What Is Porsche Turbonite? Start With the Details
From the archive — Porsche source dated September 4, 2024. This retrospective covers the earlier report; the date above is our article’s publication date, not a new Porsche announcement.

Turbonite is an easy color to misunderstand when browsing Porsche photographs. Porsche’s September 2024 explanation describes a metallic gray used to distinguish Turbo models, with its introduction beginning in late 2023.
Look at the crest and trim
The finish appears on details such as badges, window surrounds and selected wheel components, with the precise application depending on the model. It also extends into interiors. Gold-tinted elements contribute to the metallic effect, while the surface has a satin-matte character.
A design identity beyond the car
In 2024, Pantone featured Turbonite in its fashion color reporting. That makes it an interesting color-history story, but it does not turn every gray Turbo into a car painted entirely in Turbonite.
A better way to describe a specification
Separate the main body color from the trim finish. For example, record Turbonite where the documentation identifies it on a crest or wheel, then identify the body paint independently. Our color archive includes details like this because exterior color alone rarely tells the whole story.
Color and material names
The English name Turbonite appears as Turbonit in Porsche’s German release. Both refer to the finish discussed here. Compare Porsche’s German source.
